If you're looking for your next favorite cheese dog treat recipes, then look no further!

I think National Cheese Lovers Day should be every day, but my hooman says that it’s only on January 20th. No matter if it’s 10-year-old cave aged Camembert Cheese from the Provence region or just a standard cheddar, cheese is a tasty treat that dogs like me love! Whether you celebrate it every day (like I do) or not, below is a list of my favorite homemade cheese dog treat recipes. Making homemade dog treats is a great way to bond with your hooman in the kitchen and chances are that they’ll have the ingredients on hand so you can get started right away.

  1. Cheesy Cheese Dog Treat Cookies

This isn’t just a nice and simple recipe, it also gives you and your hooman the option to use either water or chicken broth. Personally I prefer chicken broth, usually homemade bone stock, because of its taste and nutritional content. Many dogs don’t realize that chicken broth is actually incredibly useful for as it helps us retain moisture and contains awesome minerals!

  2. Apple Cheddar Dog Biscuits

I was a little hesitant about this one at first due to the odd combination. Cheddar should really only be paired with local honey and gluten-free crackers, but I gave it a shot. The recipe is incredibly easy to follow and fun to make with your hooman! Applesauce is also a great source of fiber.

  3. Bacon Cheeseburger Biscuits

My hooman never lets me eat some of her grass-fed burgers (cooked medium rare, of course!), so I was happy when we found a recipe for my own Bacon Cheeseburger taste. For those that prefer to only use filet mignon, the recipe can be made without bacon as well.

  4. Apple, Cheddar, & Bacon Bit Dog Treats

If you’re really looking to indulge, I would definitely recommend this one. The taste is amazing. You get the savory bacon, sweet apple, and tasty cheddar all in one treat that is easy to make! Bacon is a delicious source of all-natural protein, which all dogs need. Don’t forget to make it extra crispy!
