Oatmeal Banana Cookies... don't these sound good enough to eat? Well, you’re in luck because you can eat them, too!
All you have to do is gather a few little helpers (aka your kids) and follow the provided dog treat recipe.
Start with gathering your ingredients:
- 3 cups oats
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup honey (local honey is best)
- 2 bananas (mashed)
- Fun cookie cutters
You can either mix the ingredients by hand or use a stand mixer if you have one. Mix all the wet ingredients together first (eggs, honey and bananas), and then add the flour and oatmeal until all ingredients are mixed well. Put older kids in charge of measuring and younger ones in charge of mixing. Everyone can help form the batter into a ball and then roll it out using a well-floured rolling pin–it will be sticky!
Once the dough is rolled out, have fun cutting out the cookies with different shaped cookie cutters. Place the cookies on a non-stick cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes. Wait until the cookies are cool and then serve to Fido–and kids! You’ve now successfully made healthy and easy dog treats that everyone can enjoy.
